As a mother with young children, I realised potty training time was quite stressful, so the last thing I needed to do was worry about washing my pushchair and car seat as well as clothes if my daughter had an accident while out and about.

I looked around for a product that would protect the fabric of my buggy and puschair without my daughter feeling she was being treated like a baby i.e. wearing a nappy or similar. There didn't seem to be much on the market at the time so I set to work designing and making my Buppy buggy pad.

My Buppy pads are specially designed to fit any pushchair. It has a cut out notch which goes to the front of the pushchair with the crotch strap coming up through the cut out part so that it won't interfere with any safety straps, and is made slightly larger than most buggy seats so that it goes up the sides slightly.

The material I use is fleece (100% polyester) / Faux pony skin (100% polyester) / terry towelling (100% cotton) and printed cotton (100% cotton). I use trendy designs such as bright fleeces and animal print material to make them more fun for children to sit on. My hope is that children will choose the colours themselves to make them more personal the child.

Stitched onto the underside or the top piece of material is a terry soaker pad, this doesn't cover the whole area, just the main rectangle area where the pad is most likely to be wet on. In every Buppy pad is a hidden waterproof layer, which gives you a bit of time to find a changing room if your child has an accident. Buppy pads are useful to protect against everyday dirt and grime that pushchair and car set covers pick up.

Every Buppy is made by me and I have a clean, smoke free family house. In my shop you will also find a range of bright hand dyed clothes from baby to adult.
